HC Deb 21 September 1948 vol 456 c55W
68. Air-Commodore Harvey

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the long delays caused by the customs authorities at Heathrow Airport in discharging freight which has been brought to this country by air; and if he will take immediate steps to reduce the time involved.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

I am not aware of any such delays, but if the hon. and gallant Member would let me have particulars of cases in which delay appears to be attributable to the Customs authorities rather than other causes, I will have inquiries made.
