HC Deb 20 September 1948 vol 456 c15W
Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Minister of Agriculture what progress is being made in compiling a census of woodlands; and what is the proportion of felled, devastated and scrub woodland in Bedfordshire.

Mr. T. Williams

The field work has been completed in Wales, is almost completed in Scotland and is progressing rapidly in England. In Bedfordshire the areas of felled, devastated and scrub woodland represent respectively 8.5 per cent., 0.2 per cent. and 12 per cent. of the total woodland area of the county.
