HC Deb 20 September 1948 vol 456 c34W
127. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish a table of new factories erected in Newport since the war, showing the numbers employed at the present time and the numbers given by the employers at time of agreement of tenancy indicating men, women, boys, girls and disabled employees separately.

Mr. Belcher

Work on two new factories at Newport has been completed since the end of the war. Nine extensions have also been finished. In addition, work is still in progress on four new factories and eight extensions. I regret that I cannot give particulars about the numbers of persons employed or to be employed, since this would involve the disclosure of information obtained in confidence relating to individual concerns.
