HC Deb 20 September 1948 vol 456 c34W
Mrs. Ayrton Gould

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give figures showing the output of darning wool in 1947 and in recent months.

Mr. H. Wilson

The average monthly output of darning wool in 1947 was 76,000 lbs. and that for the first four months of 1948 was 83,000 lbs. Following my requests to the trade to increase the production of darning wool for the home market, the figures have substantially increased and those for May, June and July are 152,000 lbs.; 153,000 lbs. and 134,000 lbs., respectively.
