HC Deb 17 September 1948 vol 456 cc4-5W
Commander Maitland

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he will consider making a special grant to men who, although not one hundred per cent. disabled cannot use their feet to drive a car, to help them to cover the expense of fitting hand-control to cars when they buy them.

Mr. Marquand

A pensioner who is within the class normally entitled to a motor-propelled tricycle, or, if outside that class, is so seriously disabled as to require one in order to obtain or retain employment, may receive, in lieu of the tricycle, a grant towards the cost of converting the controls of his own motorcar.
