§ Mr. StracheyDuring the first nine months of 1948 the average weekly consumption of home-produced pork was 330 tons and of home-cured bacon 1,740 tons. Comparable figures for the same period in 1939 are not available, but in the calendar year 1939 the estimated average weekly consumption of pork was 3,860 tons and of bacon 3,830 tons.
