HC Deb 04 November 1948 vol 457 cc101-2W
65. Captain Crowder

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is his intention to amend the Pensions (Increase) Act, having regard to the hardships caused to State pensioners, living on small fixed incomes, by the rise in prices since April, 1947.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

Substantial increases in the rates of pension were given only last year by the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1947. My right hon. Friend can hold out no hope of further increases.
