asked the Minister of Labour how many working days have been lost, respectively, through unofficial and official stoppages resulting from industrial disputes during each month since 1st January, 1948.

The approximate numbers of working days lost, owing to industrial disputes, during the first nine months of 1948 were as follow:

January 82,000
February 288,000
March 229,000
April 628,000
May 86,000
June 269,000
July 25,000
August 123,000
September 42,000

The available information does not permit a distinction to be made between official and unofficial stoppages.
