§ Mr. GaitskellThe distributable profits of authorised undertakers, that is, the gross surplus less the appropriations in respect of fixed charges, Income Tax, and depreciation, reserve and renewals funds, loan repayments and transfers to sinking funds, and special expenditure including amounts applied to capital outlay, were £10,382,224 in 1944–45 and £11,512,773 in 1945–46.
