ment of the profit margins since the sub sidy on utitlity cotton cloth has been withdrawn.

Mr. Bottomley

Manufacturers' maximum net profit margin on men's utility shirts and underwear is 4 per cent. on cost, subject to ceiling prices which have been adjusted to allow no higher cash profits on garments made from unsubsidised utility cotton cloths. Wholesalers' and retailers' maximum gross margins, which are fixed as percentages on cost, have been reduced, for men's utility shirts and underwear made from unsubsidised utility cotton cloths, to 17.65 per cent. and 33⅓ per cent., respectively. For such garments made from subsidised cotton cloths they are 20 per cent. and 37.94 per cent.
