§ Mr. BevanThe National Assistance Bill now before Parliament will place a duty on the councils of counties and county boroughs to provide, for aged persons and others who cannot wholly 'care for themselves residential accommodation of the kind to which the hon. Member refers. New building for this232W purpose will be given as high a degree of priority as possible, and I shall be consulting with local authorities in the matter.
