asked the Minister of Labour how many persons are at present employed and unemployed in Newport at the latest known date, showing

The numbers unemployed at 16th February, 1948, include 148 married women and 163 registered disabled ex-Service men. In addition there were 29 registered disabled ex-Service men unemployed who required employment under sheltered conditions. Corresponding figures are not available for 1938. The numbers of such persons in employment are also not available.
