§ Mr. Rogersasked the Secretary of State for War if, in view of the proposed raising of the conscription age, he will allow youths to join the Territorial Army before their call up, with full privileges.
§ Mr. ShinwellArrangements already exist by which volunteers may join the Territorial Army not less than a year before their call-up for national service is expected. A man accepted as a volunteer in these circumstances is discharged from his Territorial Army engagement on the day preceding his call-up under the National Service Acts.
