§ 17. Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he is aware of a widespread boycottt of British goods in the U.S.A.; and what steps he proposes to take to prevent this through British Information Services and by other means.
§ Mr. MayhewI am aware that an appeal not to buy British goods has been made in certain quarters in the United States, but have no information to suggest that the "widespread boycott" to which my hon. Friend refers has in fact occurred. The British Information Services in this as in other matters are doing what they can to draw attention to the true facts concerning His Majesty's Government's policy.
