§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the Minister of Health why he has decided not to incorporate in his amending Bill a provision to prevent a whole-time salaried service for the dentists being introduced by regulation; and whether, in view of the undertaking he has given to the medical Negotiating Committee to make this concession to the doctors, he will reconsider this decision.
§ Mr. BevanWhile there is no intention of introducing a whole-time salaried service for dentists working in private surgeries, salaries or sessional fees are in my view the most appropriate form of remuneration for dentists in health centres and I could not therefore accept the proposal.
