28. Lieut.-Colonel Clifton-Brownasked the Minister of Pensions if he is yet in a position to announce any increase in the pensions being paid to widows and children of Service personnel, who gave their lives for their country.
§ Mr. BuchananSince the outbreak of the 1939 war, several increases have been made in the pensions and allowances of war widows with children and provision has been made for a rent allowance where the rent and rates exceed 8s. a week. I regret that I am not able to announce any further increases but I can assure the hon. and gallant Member that the rates of war pensions will be kept under review in the light of changing circumstances.
