§ 4. Mr. Philips Priceasked the Minister of Agriculture what reports he has received from the county agricultural committees on the rabbit population, following the prohibition of the use of steel traps, as enacted under the Agriculture Act, 1947.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsThe use of steel traps is not prohibited by the Agriculture Act, 1947, but Section 5 of the Prevention of Damage by Rabbits Act, 1939, which was suspended during the war, prohibits their use except in rabbit holes. This suspension has now been revoked but I have received no reports from committees about the effect on the rabbit population.
