HC Deb 01 July 1948 vol 452 cc221-2W
12. Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that two houses belonging to the Borstal Institution at Hollesley Bay have been empty for some time, one of them for over six months; and if he will give instructions that they will be used forthwith to provide accommodation for two of the nine members of the staff there who are separated from their wives and families.

Mr. Ede

These two houses are housemasters' quarters. One will be occupied by a housemaster who is about to take up duty at the colony and the other is required for another housemaster whose appointment is in hand.
