§ 24. Mr. Spenceasked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to provide a larger supply of glass preserving jars particularly in the smaller sizes for the 1948 fruit crop.
§ Mr. H. WilsonI regret that, because of the shortage of soda ash, glass containers must still be scarce for some time to come, but the industry is doing what it can to step up the output of domestic preserving jars, which in 1947 was considerably greater than that of 1946 and almost ten times that of the last year before the war.
