§ 123. Mr. Beswickasked the Minister of Works why, although he is unable to meet all demands made upon his Department from sponsored appeals for surplus hutments, it is possible for private contractors to sell similar surplus hutments freely on the open market.
§ Mr. KeySurplus hutting handed over to my Department for disposal is not sold to contractors except where the hutting is of no interest to sponsored applicants or where the need for clearing a site is too urgent to allow the normal procedure to operate. If my hon. and gallant Friend will give me particulars of any case in which this procedure has not been followed I will look into it.
