§ Mr. Piratinasked the Minister of Education how many of the 753 schools black-listed by the Board of Education in 1943 are still in use; whether it is his intention to continue using these; how many are to be rebuilt or repaired in 1948; and at what expense.
§ Mr. TomlinsonNo black list was prepared by the Board of Education in 1943. Under the Education Act, 1944, local education authorities have to specify in their development plans the measures necessary to bring all school buildings up to the standard laid down in the Building Regulations and by this means it is my intention to secure a progressive improvement in school accommodation generally.
