§ Mr. Walkdenasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that finance committees of certain local authorities are now suggesting that the Government's policy on personal increases in wages and salaries implies that annual increments under current wage and salary agreements should be withheld for the time being; and if he will make it clear that it is not the wish of the Government to interfere with existing wage agreements made between employers and workpeople.
