§ Mr. Hardyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what arrangements are being made to compile an official index number of production.
§ Sir S. CrippsConsiderable changes have taken place in the structure of British industry since the last Census of Production was taken in 1935. It is difficult to compute an index of the changes in current production until the results of an up-to-date census are available. In the meantime, however, arrangements have been made to publish each month an interim index number of production in the "Monthly Digest of Statistics," beginning with the February issue.
