HC Deb 09 February 1948 vol 447 c22W
Mr. John E. Haire

asked the Minister of Health how many registered cases of tuberculosis are there in the High Wycombe Borough and Wycombe Rural areas, stated separately; and how many have been waiting more than six months for admission to a sanatorium.

Mr. Bevan

My information is that the number of respiratory and non-respiratory cases respectively in Chepping Wycombe Borough are 192 and 69, and in Wycombe Rural District 347 and 145. Six respiratory cases in the borough and four in the rural district have been on the waiting list for institutional treatment for more than six months.

Mr. Bramall

asked the Minister of Health the number of persons known to be suffering from tuberculosis in England and Wales, by sex and age groups, for the last available date; and the corresponding figures for the year 1938.

Mr. Bevan

The figures are as follows. I regret that I am not able to give them in age groups.
