§ 36. Sir G. Foxasked the Minister of Transport whether he will now make arrangements to clarify the position with regard to the parking of cars in non-restricted streets in the Metropolitan area; and whether signs can be erected to indicate clearly to motorists whether they may park their cars on either side of such streets.
§ Mr. BarnesThe legal position is, I think, quite clear. In non-restricted streets no person in charge of a motor vehicle or trailer shall cause or permit the motor vehicle or trailer to stand on a road so as to cause any unnecessary obstruction thereof. Authorised parking places on the public highway are indicated by the authorised parking place sign.
