§ Mr. Prydeasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if his attention has been called to the pollution of the South Esk River in the Gorebridge area of Midlothian; and if he will institute measures to remedy this nuisance.
§ Mr. WoodburnThere has been some pollution from two small sewers which collapsed when part of the embankment of the Gore Water, a tributary of the River South Esk, was washed away by the floods which occurred last August. The county council are making arrangements to carry out the necessary repairs as soon as possible.
