§ Mr. WoodburnThe hostels erected on this requisitioned land accommodate European volunteer workers employed on farms in the surrounding district, and their use could be discontinued only if the demand for agricultural labour declined or other suitable accommodation were available. As there is every indication that these labour requirements will continue and as it has not been possible, after careful search, to secure suitable alternative accommodation, I regret that I cannot say when the park will be restored to Peebles Town Council.
