asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that some Gurkha Subahdars serving in Malaya are obliged to pay British rates of Income Tax on their pay; and whether these arrangements can be reviewed.

These men are members of the British Army and as such are liable to United Kingdom tax on their Service pay wherever they are serving.
