asked the Minister of Food what was the nature of the gentleman's agreement he came to with those in the tomato trade when price control was removed; and if the understanding has proved effective as far as the interest of the consumer is concerned.

The agreement to which my hon. Friend refers was between traders, and not with my Department. This voluntary control scheme broke down on 26th March.
