§ Sir Waldron Smithersasked the Minister of Food how much Cuban sugar during the past year to the latest available date has he bought at 5 cents per lb. or over.
§ Mr. StracheyI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him on 12th April.
§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Food how much sugar there was in this country at the latest available date; how much more he has bought, or is in transit; and how long the present ration can be maintained on the basis of these supplies and arrivals.
§ Mr. StracheyIt would not be in the public interest to disclose details of our food stocks, but I am satisfied that the present arrangements for supplies of sugar will enable the present ration to be maintained throughout this year.
