52. Mr. Stokes

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will now increase beyond 20,000 the number of German prisoners of war allowed to remain as civilian agricultural workers, apart from those in the two special classes already allowed in excess of this figure; and if he will give an assurance that prisoners of war waiting to be absorbed into this scheme will not be repatriated while the matter is still under consideration.
