HC Deb 21 April 1948 vol 449 c147W
71. Mr. Osborne

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he is taking to increase the number of lumpers registered by the National Dock Labour Corporation at Grimsby for the handling of the heavy catches of fish now arriving there, as indicated by the correspondence sent to him by the Grimsby United Fish Merchants' and Fish Curers' Association.

Mr. T. Williams

The number of registered lumpers is sufficient to deal with normal landings. Arrangements have now been made to obtain additional men from the Royal Dock at times of peak landings.
