Mr. Sargoodasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that on nth October two men, one of whom represented himself as a police officer, entered and searched the premises at Nos. 67 and 69, Pages Walk, Bermondsey, London; whether either of the two men referred to were police officers; and what authority they had for entering and searching the premises referred to.
§ Mr. EdeI am informed that one of the men was a police officer, and that he entered and searched the premises with the consent and indeed on the invitation of the occupiers. The other man, according to my information, took no active part in the search.
