§ 29. Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what reasons for their resignation were given by the four members of the Greek Orthodox Board of Education, Cyprus, who resigned in June; and whether he is satisfied with the educational policy pursued by the Government of Cyprus.
§ Mr. Rees-WilliamsFour out of six unofficial members of the Board of Education for the Greek orthodox schools resigned on the ground that the Cyprus Government had not reconsidered its education policy to accord with their views, and that changes made and contemplated by that Government did not accord with their opinion, in particular because that Government would not abandon its ultimate responsibility under the law for educational policy in Cyprus. With regard to educational policy, the Governor is acting with the Secretary of State's knowledge and approval.
