HC Deb 27 November 1947 vol 444 c313W
102. Major Bruce

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the importance of all companies complying as soon as possible with provisions of the new Companies Act relating to accounts; and whether he will make an order to bring those provisions into force as soon as practicable.

Mr. H. Wilson

Yes. I regard it as of great importance that all companies should comply with these important provisions as soon as possible, but I recognise that it would not be practicable to bring them into force without reasonable notice. I, therefore, take this opportunity of announcing that the requirements will be brought into full operation on 1st July, 1948.
