HC Deb 21 November 1947 vol 444 c225W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Education to what extent has the requirement been waived that emergency-trained teachers at the conclusion of their year of training at an emergency college shall subsequently undertake two years further training after admission to the national schools; in how many cases up to date has this requirement been, in fact, observed; and what arrangements are made to furnish opportunities for that additional two years' study.

Mr. Tomlinson

All teachers trained in Emergency Colleges are required to undertake, after the conclusion of their college training, a part-time course of study for two years. This requirement has not in any case been waived, but there has not yet been time for any teachers to complete the two-years period. An explanation of the arrangements for this part-time course of study is given in Appendix 3 of Circular 106 of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
