asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what instructions he has issued to His Majesty's representatives in non-sterling countries in regard to economy in the use of petrol; and what is the estimated annual saving in dollars as a result.

A reminder of the need for economy is being sent to His Majesty's representatives in all foreign countries but, since the need for all possible saving in overseas expenditure has already been brought to their notice, substantial new economies cannot be expected. It would not, in any case, be possible to estimate the dollar element in such economies
