asked the Minister of Supply if he will give details of the division of responsibilities as between his Joint Parliamentary Secretaries.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretaries deputise for me as the political head of the Ministry and, in so doing, divide their responsibilities broadly as follows:

Mr. John Freeman—Supplies (Air and Munitions), Research and Development, Contracts and Disposals, Non-Ferrous Metals.

Mr. Jack Jones—Engineering industries, Iron and Steel, Royal Ordnance Factories, Labour questions generally.
