HC Deb 11 November 1947 vol 444 cc58-9W
97. Captain Field

asked the Secretary of State for War for how long have Perham Down Barracks been empty; and if these premises are not required by the War Department if he will release them for housing purposes.

Mr. M. Stewart

None of the barracks at Perham Down are empty. Two are only partly occupied, but although most urgently required for accommodating military personnel, cannot be completely occupied until certain reinstatement work is completed. I regret, therefore, that there is no possibility of releasing these premises for housing purposes.
