Lewisasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction existing among persons, especially young married couples living with relatives, who are refused coal rations 274W by fuel officers; and if he will give instructions for this practice to be discontinued.
§ Mr. ShinwellAs I informed the hon. Member for Chislehurst (Mr. G. Wallace) on 5th December last, the shortage of supplies makes it impossible to grant a separate registration to every sub-tenant. The existing instructions provide for subtenants to be treated as sympathetically as the situation allows.
