§ Mr. Ness EdwardsThe total number of insured persons registered as unemployed at the Eastleigh Employment Exchange at 14th April were 16 men and five women. The highest figure for any industry was five in the building industry. The total numbers of vacancies notified to the Eastleigh Employment Exchange and remaining unfilled at 16th April were 398 for men and 48 for women. The figures for men for the principal industries were as follow: railway carriage, wagon, etc., construction and repair, 140; railway service, 120; building and civil engineering, 76; general engineering, 42. Thirty of the vacancies for women were in the electric cable making industry.
