§ 72. Mr. Haireasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has made a survey of timber resources in the Colonies with a view to easing the timber supply position in the United Kingdom; and with what results.
Mr. Creech JonesA review of the exportable timber resources of the Colonial Empire has recently been completed and I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of it. In general any marked increase in exports will depend on the readiness of the United Kingdom to accept hitherto unused timbers and on logging and transport equipment being available.
