§ Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Food, whether, in view of the inconvenience caused to citizens of Chiswick, particularly the aged and infirm, by the present location of the local food office, he will provide and staff a temporary structure upon land at the rear of the Chiswick Clinic, in order that the borough council may distribute milk and other foods from this more central point; and when he expects this temporary structure and the staff to be available.
§ Mr. StracheyWelfare foods for expectant mothers and children under school age, with the exception of national dried milk, are already distributed by the Borough Council from the Chiswick Clinic. I do not feel justified in recommending the erection of a special building for use as a welfare foods distribution centre, but I am looking into the question of improved arrangements for distribution in the Chiswick area.
