Mr. Collinsasked the Minister of Agriculture if, in view of the great loss of farming time occasioned by the severe winter, he will inaugurate a "Speed the plough" campaign and seek the cooperation of the farmworkers' trade 9W unions in arranging for double-shift working wherever possible so as to make the maximum use of machinery during the hours of daylight.

WilliamsI am sure that both farmers and farm workers fully recognise the need for pressing on with ploughing and cultivations as soon and as fast as they can, and for using every possible means of making up for lost time. I am assured that in this matter the agricultural workers unions will give their full support.
