§ 98 and 99. Mr. Emrys Roberts
asked the Minister of Works (1) for what reasons a licence for £1,500 to repair a private road belonging to the Port Meirion Hotel, Merioneth, was granted by his Department; and whether he will now, in view of the objections of the local authorities concerned, cancel or reduce the amount of the licence;
(2) why a licence to do electrical work amounting to £1,500 at the Port Meirion Hotel, Merioneth, was granted by his Department, in view of the shortage of cable and other materials; and whether he will now cancel this licence, in view of the objections brought to his notice.
§ Mr. Key
The licences were granted, after consultation with the Board of Trade, because the work was considered necessary in the interests of the tourist traffic. It has been found possible to postpone the electrical work and the24W licence has been cancelled. The road work has been curtailed and a revised licence will be issued.
