63. Lieut.-Commander Hutchisonasked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of the serious shortage of nourishing food for infants, in particular, ready-made bone and vegetable broth; and what steps he proposes to take to make up this deficiency.
§ Mr. StracheyThere is no shortage of milk and vitamin products provided under the Welfare Foods Service, nor of cereal weaning foods, although there may sometimes be shortages of particular brands. Recent shortages of bone and vegetable 13W broth have been due mainly to inadequate supplies of jars. I am afraid it may take some time to overcome this.
