§ 2. Sir G. Foxasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when he anticipates opening up roads in the industrial areas of Tanganyika, namely, the Western Province, including the diamond area at Shinyanga, so that the sparsely inhabited country through which the roads pass can become developed and inhabited.
Mr. Creech JonesThe areas in question are already connected by road with the Tanganyika railway system. Arrangements to provide a branch railway to Shinyanga are far advanced and a branch line to the Mpanda Mine in the Western Province is contemplated.
