HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 cc196-7W
81. Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General why no radio-telephone service is available from the United Kingdom to Atlantic liners on Sundays.

Mr. Burke

The difficulty in opening the radio-telephone service with Atlantic liners on Sundays has been due to the shortage of operators. I am glad to say, however, that arrangements came into force last Sunday under which the service in question will, in future, be available on seven days a week.
