§ Lord John Hopeasked the Minister of Pensions what was the total amount paid to British ex-Servicemen in disability pensions for the year 1946; and what amount has been allocated for such pensions for the year 1947.
§ Mr. Wilfred PalingThe estimated expenditure for the year 1946–47 is £48,890,000, and for the year 1947–48 £52,405,000.
§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Minister of Pensions whether it is proposed to increase disability pensions of officers and men of the 1914–18 war in view of the high cost of living.
§ Mr. Wilfred PalingThe basic rates of disablement pensions for 1914 world war pensioners are the same as those for 1939 world war pensioners and were reviewed by the Government just over a year ago. Since then there has been no general change in circumstances to justify any further revision.
