Foxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the number of police constables who have passed the promotion examination to sergeant, but for whom, owing to the working of the service, no promotion is possible and have left to join the teaching profession in the last two years, respectively.
§ Mr. EdeOnly three out of 37 such constables who have resigned from the Metropolitan Police Force during the last two years are known to have intended to join the teaching profession.
